Cocker-Poo-The Cockapoo is a cross between the Poodle and a Cocker Spaniel breeds. A small dog with a big personality, the Cockapoo dog is perhaps the first of the “designer dogs” (not a purebred dog breed), dating back to the 1960s rather than just a few years ago. Thanks to their curly or wavy coats and big eyes, they often look like teddy bears. We have the friendly temperament of the Cocker Spaniel and the hypoallergenic coat of the Poodle. Depending on the Poodle parent, they come in various sizes and exhibit multiple coat colors and textures. While brown and cream are the most common, merle, blue, and black Cockapoos are rarer. Known for their playful and sociable demeanor, Cockapoos make excellent family pets and get along well with children and other animals. They are generally adaptable to various living situations, whether in apartments or houses with yards. They require regular exercise to stay happy and healthy. Due to their low-shedding coats, this breed is often considered a good choice for individuals with allergies. Additionally, their friendly disposition and eagerness to please make them easily trainable, even for first-time dog owners.

The Cavapoo/Cavadoodle/Cavapoodle is a small dog, however, some people consider them medium size. Because, a poodle can come in multiple sizes it’s important to know if your puppies mama is a toy, miniature or standard. So then, when you cross it with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel it is likely you will end up with a medium size dog but not all in the litter may be medium. For example one of my poodles is a toy with both miniature and toy in his linage. However, the ideally Cavapoos will inherit some of the best traits from each parents. They are outgoing, playful, and curious.

With their compact size, unique coloring, and hypoallergenic coat, Cavapoos often resemble teddy bears. Their sweet temperament complements their charming appearance. These darling pups are known for being sociable, playful, and loving, they also make excellent family pets thanks to their compatibility with children and outgoing nature.
